We cruised the Mexican Riviera to Cabo, Xtapa, Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco a couple years ago, but on Norwegian. That was a nice cruise and we enjoyed it, especially Cabo and Acapulco. Since then I have been on about 4 Royal Caribbean cruises and made port stops in other parts of Mexico on the Caribbean side. We have been to Cozumel, and Costa Maya and hod absolutely no problem with safety or the flu problems that were there early last year.

Royal Caribbean is one of the best cruise lines you can take and if you are going on the RC's ship, the Mariner of the Seas, I have been on that ship and it is great. The food and service were outstanding and I know that they have some great rates right now for cruises to the Mexican Riviera fro LA. IN addition, you'll find that the Mariner has a wealth of activities on board so you will not be bored on ship at all; plenty to do. Check out the great rates: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/cruiseDetails/itineraryAndPricing.do;jsessionid=00004PB2eHZzPPQ0YHR1fZ-3WGl:12hbiocus?packageCode=MA07X010&region=MEXCO&ship=MA&date=ANY&selectedCurrencyCode=&promoType=&hasSenior=&hasMilitary=&hasFireandPolice=&state=
